BMW Manufacturer Facts:

In our great country, the USA, BMW is known as a top of the line luxury and performance car manufacturer. BMW began making motorcycles, automobiles, and airplanes. In the 1920’s they had to stop manufacturing their airplanes due to the Versailles Treaty. BMW, or Bayerische Motoren Werke, is a German company that has gained their popularity by making luxury and high-performance cars and motorcycles.

The original BMW logo was designed in-house at Bayerische Motoren Werke AG in 1927. The BMW logo is in fact a combination of the logo of the Rapp Motorenwerke, and the colors of the Bavarian flag, and not representative of a spinning aircraft propeller, as many have thought. The myth started in 1929, when a BMW aircraft magazine cover illustration, released in 1929.
