Timing Belt Replacement

Searching for a Timing Belt Repair Shop in Colorado Springs?

Honest Accurate Auto Service is your choice in Colorado Springs when considering replacing the timing belt on your vehicle.  This service is critical to maintaining the integrity of your engine, and increasing the longevity of your vehicle.   Honest Accurate Auto Service can replace the timing belt on all Asian or Domestic and European vehicles.

Since there are no warning signs that your timing belt is becoming worn and brittle (and it is not able to be visually inspected), take a moment and consult your Owner’s Manual for recommended mileages at which your vehicle’s timing belt should be replaced.  Generally, timing belt replacement should occur between 60,000 and 110,000 miles, or every 7 to 10 years.  Our shop Service Manager can help advise you on the recommendations for your particular vehicle.

Out of sight and often easily ignored, your vehicle’s timing belt is an integral part of many overhead valve engines.  Although changing a timing belt is not an inexpensive repair, it is significantly less expensive than repairing the resulting damage should that timing belt slip or break.  The timing belt connects the crankshaft to the camshaft(s), controlling the opening and closing of the engine’s intake and exhaust valves.   As the belt ages, it will stretch and crack.  If your timing belt breaks or jumps a tooth, damage can occur on the engine’s head, pistons, and/or valves.

Check your service manual for your specific vehicle to see whether your vehicle has a timing belt (some have timing chains that do not require replacement).

What’s Included in a Timing Belt Replacement
