In 1922, two motorcycle enthusiasts William Walmsley and William Lyons founded the Swallow Sidecar Company. The enterprise started its business as a manufacturer of motorcycle sidecars. Like many other companies in automotive history, their first endeavor had nothing to do with cars. However, when it comes to Jaguar, the British company made rather a smooth transition from motorcycle equipment and coachbuilding to car manufacturing.
